BETO O’ROURKE TEAMS UP WITH RAILROAD COMMISSION CANDIDATE CHRYSTA CASTAÑEDA FOR EL PASO/BIG BEND TOWN HALL ON OIL INDUSTRY AND TEXAS ECONOMY
Chrysta Castañeda, Democratic candidate for the Texas Railroad Commission, Powered by People founder Beto O’Rourke, and Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa will team up to present a virtual town hall on the oil industry and the Texas economy in El Paso and Big Bend on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. via Zoom.
To register for the event, visit https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0uduqprDMpE9XnPtL0Ga9iV-iqSHe8S4Uz.
The town hall kicks off Chrysta’s 10-week Tour of Texas every Wednesday at 5 p.m. until October 28. Each event will feature guests from a different region of Texas and focus on energy-related issues specific to that geography. (The Texas Railroad Commission oversees the state’s oil and gas industry.)
“Oil and gas play a key role in the economic well-being of literally every region of Texas,” Chrysta said. “Whether it’s drilling, processing, transportation, services, or finance, there’s not a corner of Texas that isn’t affected by this industry. Texans deserve a Railroad Commission that will protect our precious natural resources and environment at the same time keeping one of the biggest parts of our economy functioning.”
Future town halls will (virtually) visit every part of the Great State of Texas.
